2012-2013 GPF Annual Report

The GPF board of directors are pleased to announce that the GPF 2012-2013 Annual Report is here: 2012-2013 GPF Annual Report.

The GPF supports the education that provides knowledge to grant professionals, the advocacy that gives them greater access to funding, and the credentialing that establishes and promotes excellence in the grants field. The Annual Report highlights how GPF helped GPA members and other grant professionals as we worked together to enhance chapter development, provide scholarships so our colleagues can learn and grow, maintain sound financial controls, and increase marketing and outreach.

The Grant Professionals Foundation is delighted to announce its fall 2014 GPA Membership Scholarship winners.

These scholarships support new and experienced grant professionals. All Membership Scholarship winners receive a one‐year GPA national membership valued at $239 and a one‐year local GPA Chapter Membership ranging from $25 to $75 in value. The Open Membership Scholarship Program is the main way the Grant Professionals Foundation supports chapter capacity building and leadership development. The Foundation awarded its first membership scholarships in 2013 but has awarded other scholarships to scores of professionals since 2007. The generous donations of GPA members and other donors through campaigns like the Every Chapter Challenge are the Foundation’s sole means of supporting scholarships. Congrats! 2014 GPC™ Scholarship Recipients

The Grant Professionals Certification Institute (GPCI) is pleased to present the 2014 GPC™ Scholarship recipients. The Grant Professionals Foundation is proud to partner with GPCI to provide scholarship support for the Grant Professionals Certification Exam.

The GPC™ Scholarship recipients for 2014 are:

  • Stacy Ruble – Richmond, Virginia
  • Karen Warr – Portland, Oregon

The exam is a one-of-a-kind credentialing process that includes the candidate’s experience in the grants field, a multiple choice test, and a writing exercise. The GPC™ Exam is available through electronic testing at nearly 500 testing centers in over 80 countries. Individuals interested in taking the GPC™ have the opportunity to sit for the exam at a date and location of their choosing.

The Board of Directors would like to thank all the applicants who took the initiative to apply for scholarship funding. The 2014 recipients were selected based on their application responses using the published scoring criteria.

2014 GPC Exam Scholarship Application Period Closes September 1st

Thanks to donations from individuals, the Grant Professionals Certification Institute (GPCI), and the Grant Professionals Foundation, scholarship funding is available for individuals interested in taking the electronic exam. Any individual interested in the scholarship is welcome to apply starting Friday, August 1, 2014. The deadline to apply is Monday, September 1, 2014, 5:00pm, EST. Scholarship recipients will be announced at the Grant Professionals Association National Conference in Portland, Oregon, October 15-18.

All individuals awarded a 2014 GPC Scholarship must submit their eligibility packet to GPCI by March 1, 2015, and if approved to sit for the exam, take it by September 30, 2015.

The cost for sitting for the GPC Exam is $539 for Grant Professional Association members and $739 for non-members. If awarded a scholarship, it will be in the form of a credit directly to GPCI for all or a portion of the GPC exam cost. Each individual is responsible for covering any additional expenses, including transportation costs to the exam site.

Open Membership Scholarships due September 30th

GPF’s Open Membership Scholarship Program will accept membership scholarship applications via the online portal through-out the year and award decisions will be made by the GPF Board during regularly scheduled meetings. The scholarship application cut-off dates are as follows:

  • October – March; application period ends March 31st
  • April – September; application period ends September 30th

The membership scholarship applications are accepted until midnight (CDT) of the application period end date. Award decisions are expected to be made and announced after the next regular Foundation Board meeting.

The Foundation offers three types of membership scholarships: 1). Chapter Leader Membership Scholarships (for current and incoming GPA Chapter Officers); 2). New Membership Scholarship (one-year GPA national Membership valued at $209 and a one-year local GPA Chapter Membership value ranging from $25 to $75 depending on the Chapter); or 3). Renewing Membership Scholarships (one-year Memberships – dues for GPA national and local GPA Chapter, valued at up to $284 for both).
