GPC Scholarships Available in 2013, Apply Now!

Thinking about sitting for the Grant Professional Certified™ (GPC) Exam?  You could not have chosen a better time.

Thanks to donations from individuals, the Grant Professionals Certification Institute (GPCI), and the Grant Professionals Foundation, scholarship funding is available for individuals interested in taking the new electronic exam.  Any individual interested in the scholarship is welcome to apply starting Tuesday, September 3, 2013.  The deadline to apply is Tuesday, October 1, 2013, 5:00pm, EST.  Scholarship recipients will be announced at the GPA National Conference in November.

All individuals awarded a 2013 GPC Scholarship must submit their eligibility packet to GPCI by March 1, 2014, and if approved to sit for the exam, take it by September 30, 2014.

The exact number of scholarships has not been announced.  The cost for sitting for the GPC Exam is $539 for Grant Professional Association members and $739 for non-members.  If awarded a scholarship, it will be in the form of a credit directly to GPCI for all or a portion of the GPC exam cost.  Each individual is responsible for covering any additional expenses, including transportation costs to the exam site.

2013 Conference Scholarship Application!!

The Grant Professionals Foundation is pleased to offer you this opportunity to apply for a scholarship to attend the 2013 Grant Professionals Association Annual Conference to be held in Baltimore, MD on November 13-16, 2013.

First Open Membership Scholarship Awarded!

The Foundation recently awarded our first Open Membership Chapter Leader Scholarship for 2013!

Dorcas Perez, Grants Administrator with the Town of Miami Lakes Florida, was selected by the Foundation’s Scholarship Selection Committee for this exciting honor. This scholarship is the direct result of listening to Chapter leaders who told us about the challenges of retaining great members due to the economy. A portion of the funds we collected through the 2012 Every Chapter Challenge was set aside to fund the new Open Membership Scholarship.

2013 Conference Scholarships – due June 30th

The Board of Directors of the Grant Professionals Foundation is proud to announce the 2013 conference scholarships program. Through the support of grant professionals across the country, scholarship recipients will be able to attend the 15th annual Grant Professionals Association National Conference in Baltimore, MD on November 13-16, 2013. As always, the Foundation provides support for professional development for the people who bring funding to our local communities to address the needs of our most vulnerable constituencies.

The Scholarship Committee uses a fair and objective methodology to evaluate and select recipients based on their application responses and a published scoring criteria. The Foundation encourages everyone eager to improve their skills and knowledge in grantsmanship to apply for a scholarship to attend the national conference. The deadline to apply is June 30, 2013 at midnight CST (Central Standard Time).

Conference scholarships are made possible through contributions from the Grant Professionals Association, the Grant Professionals Certification Institute, the Grant Professionals Foundation, members of local GPA Chapters, GPA members, individual donors, corporate sponsors and friends of the Foundation.

Open Membership Scholarships – Apply Online now!

The Grant Professionals Foundation is pleased to offer GPA Membership and Chapter Membership Scholarships to applicants on a continuous basis. GPF’s Open Membership Scholarship Program will accept membership scholarship applications via the online portal through-out the year and award decisions will be made by the GPF Board during regularly scheduled meetings. The scholarship application cut-off dates are as follows:

  • October – March; application period ends March 31st
  • April – September; application period ends September 30th

The membership scholarship applications are accepted until midnight (CDT) of the application period end date. Award decisions are expected to be made and announced after the next regular Foundation Board meeting.

2012 GPC™ Scholarships!

 

The Grant Professionals Certification Institute (GPCI) is pleased to present the 2012 GPC™ Scholarship recipients.  The Grant Professionals Foundation is proud to partner with GPCI to provide scholarship support for the Grant Professionals Certification Exam. The GPC™ Scholarship recipients for 2012 are:

  • Susan Cruze – scholarship made possible thanks to generous individuals and organizations donating funds to GPCI, specifically for the scholarship program
  • Tyler Winklker – scholarship made possible thanks to generous individuals and organizations donating funds to GPCI, specifically for the scholarship program
  • Tracey Diefenbach – scholarship made possible thanks to generous individuals and organizations donating funds to GPCI, specifically for the scholarship program
  • Emily Peterson – Grant Professionals Foundation’s GPC™ Scholarship

2012 marks the first year the GPC™ Exam is available through electronic testing at nearly 500 testing centers in over 80 countries.  Individuals interested in taking the GPC™ have the opportunity to sit for the exam at a date and location of their choosing.  Current scholarship recipients have until September 30, 2013, to take the exam.

The Board of Directors would like to thank all the applicants who took the initiative to apply for scholarship funding.  The 2012 recipients were selected based on their application responses using the published scoring criteria.  We encourage those not selected to apply again next year.
